In what ways is clinical education similar in the various health professions? In what ways is it different? How does supervision of student clinical education vary from profession to profession?
What are the legal and ethical responsibilities of the school related to the clinical education of its health profession students?
How do faculty determine the success or failure of students in their clinical education?
How are departments changing in relation to interdisciplinary and collaborative practice placement of their students? With what degree of success?
What is the status of remuneration of students for a portion of their clinical placement?
How do schools coordinate the clinical placement of their students when the sites are in limited supply? When students request specific sites? International sites?
What has driven the increase in employment of legal counsel by universities? In what ways can universities or colleges avoid legal problems (preventive law)?
What specific legal problems do electronic records pose? To whom do e-mails belong, and under what circumstances? How does employee use of the internet for personal purposes impact the institution in areas such as viewing pornography? How can colleges navigate the thicket of federal regulations?
What types of harassment are covered under federal regulations? What are the resources an administrator can employ when charges of harassment are brought? What precautions should an administrator take regarding harassment?
How should an institution relate to student, staff or faculty mental health problems, prevention or treatment that could give rise to legal liability?
What do the courts consider to be institutional prerogatives in relation to student grading? Discipline? Faculty grievances and discontinuation?
